Xavier Allen's debut solo exhibition is a sensory exploration of abstraction. ‘Physical Systems of Ethereal Protection’ showcases sculptural works inspired by the delicate energies that surround the human body. By translating ethereal boundaries into solid, cementitious forms, themes of protection and safety arise. Raw textures and neutral palettes found in nature diverge from the familiar, emerging as hyper-sensual energetic lines. Complementary flatworks expand, contract, and overlap as raw, expressive pieces to create a cohesive world.

Xavier encourages the audience to find their interpretations of the work by engaging their senses. The expansion and contraction of similar pieces across mediums influence your awareness of the audience. Intuitively linger with works that call to the viewer, and observe the inner world before and after the interaction. The energy, time, and patience involved in the sculpting process open moments of meditative connection for the artist, that connection seeks to transcend time for the viewer.
